Photo-Graphs
I sort through these old photographs
Past periods and places of our own lives
Details long forgotten
Remembered on a tattered edge
Of material realities
There is a sense
A profoundest of senses
That all the things, all the great things, the small things
The tragic things, the hopeful things
Become buried beneath the sands of time
And the trials and tribulations of one generation,
Become the photos of forgotten faces and names
Of the next.
