Night Sprites

Night sprites awakening with the darkening twilight

Stirring with the rustling leaves and waving trees

Soulful spirits dancing in moonlight shadows

Twirling round and round the twisting trees

Shimmering and shaking under the veil of black leaves

Emergent ceremonies ever ethereal, evanescent

Whilst dreams spellbound keep the day walkers

In a somambulent trance

And retiring with the rising sun

Seek refuge in cracks and crevices

Nooks and crannies

There to lie and sleep in shadow
