Mexican Top

Mexican top

Gloss well gone

Spinning out of control

The Faster the Better

Pick it up

Simple Delight

Spinning true blue

In the palm of one's hand

Watch it fall

Pick it up again

And wind it back up

For another throw

The day spins like a top

Out of control

With its own sense

Of whirling equilibrium

Mexican Top

Spinning out of Control

Only an Illusion

Of wild abandon

When gently couched

In the palm of a supple hand

The top is mastered

Before it wobbles

And topples

The harder it is thrown

The greater the power

In the palm of one's hand

A lesson of a wild, spinning life

Not learned in a textbook

Not taught by a teacher
