Death Comes Uninvited

Death comes always uninvited

And Unwelcome

Death needs no invitation

Nor any undue consideration

Death calls and life answers

And death summons

And life responds

Death itself is painless

It is the loss

Of the illusions of life

That brings on pain

The dead no longer suffer

The abuses and calamities of power and prejudice

They repose forever

In the womb of the earth
