Darkness Overhangs My Shoulders

Shadows hang

Heavily upon my shoulders

My head overcast

In darkness

Of a cloudy

Be-shrouded day

The sun's light eclipsed

By gloom

The hole

I find

Where once my heart

Did dwell

Life now an empty

Missing pulse

Walking

In a timeless,

Off beat way

This darkness

Is my fate

To be

Consigned to ash

And dust and earth

My soul only

Old soil

For new life
