seventy-four

these letters

lyrics of my lonesome longing

composed by myself

written to myself

solitary songs

of love

only for me

a recollection

of bits and pieces

a concatenation

of disparate thoughts and feelings

to help tie together

the diverse threads

over the years

a voice of continuity

images and imaginings

of enduring character

through many vicissitudes

fragmentary moments arranged

into some sense of meaningful order

configuring a harmonious outline

of the wholeness and balance

of otherwise disheveled and ineffable

constellations of movements and dreaming

and desperate acts and disconcerted feelings

for personal, private reasons
