twenty-one
formless faith
with nothing to hold
expressionless
without object
echoing eternal emptiness
without firm ground
without a base
to rest upon
forever perishing
passing into and out of existence
but never quite dead enough
no matter how diminished
beneath the everyday weight
of an onerous reality
a lonely cross to carry
