Thirty-Nine

Moist nymph

Haunting my darkness

Tainting my feelings

With freshness

Stimulating dreams

Do not evaporate

Like some mist

In sunshine

Wave crest

Prodigious bearer

Of my pride

A water baby

A new love born

Without condition

Fetal child

In perfect fruition

Peering ponderously

To the murky bottom

Dream-like imaginings

Flitting in the depths

A fantasy realm

Alien to the known

Strange interface

Deep well of fortune

Gazing entranced

Into the dancing flames

To jump in

Means destruction

Submerged in salty substance

The overwhelming ocean

Harbors a water mother

And a water baby

To yield to passion

To give in to sensuous pleasure

And overpowering temptation

So inviting and so dangerous

Living vicariously

Longing for death

Threatening vicissitudes

Without liberation
