You have opened my heart

With the hint of your love

And have blessed my being

With a sense of belonging

You have touch me most intimately

In the suggestion of my dreams

And I have shared with you in my thoughts

The most private parts of my being

A fantasy come true you are

The nearness of your presence

Has made the tedium more bearable

And has transformed the barrenness

Of my dry and lonely desert

Into a fresh and succulent paradise

the flowers bloom more radiantly

Coloring my imagination

and the hues of my secret garden

Glow vibrantly in the evening shade

And now passing love

Brief and forever fleeting

Threaten to leave me dry and empty once again

To abandon my beating heart

Once more cast upon the seas of gray solitude

And the colorless, dark desert of desperation

Yet is it all for nothing?

Or might there still be some

Remote twinge of surviving hope

Yet lingering in the recesses

Of my lonely soul

As I search and scour my inner world

For the hint of happiness renewed

For some faint glowing ember

Of a lost and dying love

Rekindled
