The middle of the road

Is a hard path to remain upon

Without straying

Or becoming distracted

Or losing one's balance

The middle of the road

That divides destiny

Into two halves

Of the less fortunate

And of the more fortunate

Of the small

And of the large

Of the spiritual

And of the material

To see as far ahead

As can be seen behind

Two halves always equal

It is our fate

Never to be more

Or less than what

We realy are

The golden rule

So often forgotten

So often broken

Is to keep

To the middle of the road

During one's stroll

Through life's forests
