Moon Shadows

The solstice moon

Casts her full light

As like a false sun

That shines in the night

And wondrous shadows dance

Across the gray night

And the summer flowers

In full quivering bloom

Almost show their colors

Like August fairies

Amidst the gloom

And the spiders orbed web

Glistens as it blows

In the gentle wind

The forms of night

The ghosts, the goblins

The nocturnal creatures

That lurk otherwise about

They do dance and make merry

While all else is quiet
