To the Rubbish Heaped in the Corner
Before coming here
My vision of a classroom
Was a clean and well-ordered place
It is difficult to look at the pile of rubbish
That sits silently in the corner
Like some recalcitrant student
Refusing to go away
Rats are there at night
As I find them dead among their droppings
And I wait patiently for it to be removed
But I know this is not my classroom
It is the People's classroom
And so the rubbish still sits
Silently in the corner of the room
Refusing to go away
