Virgin Moments
The first moments upon awaking from a deep slumber
When the dream's just slipped away
Taking flight mysteriously in the closets of the mind
From the early dawn light
When the body is as still and unstirred as the morning air
And the soul as quiet as the still night
The first feeling of relaxation upon sitting down after a long day of work
The first swallow of ice-cold beer after a long dry drought of sweat and toil
The first bite of good hot food after a long famine
Life is at is sharpest in these brief moments
It's edge not yet dulled by the ennui
Of everyday tedium
