The Treetops Stretch Across

The treetops stretch across

Vast and empty spaces

As they span the entire campus grounds

Countless spires of different shapes

A fanciful city of elves, fairies and baby robins

From out my fourth-floor window

Hiding other mysterious worlds

Teaming and toiling on the ground below

My eyes reach across the empty spaces

To embrace other distant places

They see only the many mantles

Of green leaves and brown branches

A forest sea for the imagination
