It Rained While in Class

It rained while in class

And I did not notice it

Until I walked halfway home

It was just a light rain

Barely enough to wash away the dirt

And clean the spittle off the ground

But it was a refreshing rain

Clearing the air and cleansing the ground

So busy was I in class

And so busy was the class

Oblivious we were to the world around us

A cloistered little world of 36 pairs of black eyes

36 mouths and 36 sets of ears

All tuned to one teacher

We lost track of time until the bell sounded

We did not notice the rain outside
