Chinese Christmas

Turn out the lights

String the paper ribbons

Push back the desks

Join the dance

Join the music

Join the train of joy

As we snake

Like a dragon

Beneath the limbo stick

Sing a carol

In a strange foreign language

Beat the pinata

Until it breaks

And scurry frantically

For the mysterious things inside

Chinese Christmas is a mystery

Of Cypress Christmas Trees

Strung with paper birds

Of hundreds of chiao-tzu

And cheap presents

Hidden in cheap wrapping paper
