Broken Windows

Broken windows

Shatter and fall aimlessly to the ground

People mill about the fragments

Unheeding of the shards

That fall upon them

Broken windows

Cover all the new school buildings

No one seems to care or to mind

If they let in more wind

Or let the heat escape

Broken windows

Like shattered crystals catching the light

Lying forgotten upon the ground

Eventually swept into a hidden corner

To become buried and forgotten
