Its aim has been the promotion, if in name only as it has been so far, of an alternative solar-based energy infrastructure. Any such effort is a pioneering one, and faces the challenge of not only breaking new ground, but breaking free of old ground and even older ideas that serve as prison walls to the realization of new possibilities. Only a solar-based infrastructure offers the possibility of full integration between local-individual and global levels of energy development and utilization. In other words, we talk of a complete, scale free energy/transportation network in which the individual consumer can also join the grid and become a contributing producer.</div> <bR> <div> Solar Metasystems subsumes many possible projects and avenues of related development. We have striven to adopt a hands-on, practical and experimental approach to such projects and have done so primarily through modeling and experimental demonstration of feasibility of basic kinds of systems. We see no limit, beyond that of start-up costs, in the realization of alternative forms of solar based systems.
