Doing More with Less
Sunlight streams to earth on a daily round. The total amount of energy reaching the earth's surface within a single hour, only a fraction of that what passes through the upper layers of the atmosphere (less than 50 percent), is much greater in measure than the total capacity produced by human beings in an entire year. To be able to utilize this energy effectively and efficiently, in the way that life has been able to utilize it through photosynthesis, is to set the future of human civilization upon a stable developmental platform for the indefinite long term future. It is to slow down and reverse ultimately the runaway processes of the production of carbon-based green-house gases. It is to provide humankind the means for survival and sustained growth long after the earth's fossil energy reserves have been depleted and its atmosphere and basic atmospheric cycles permanently damaged as a result of burning carbon-based fuels.
Light as an energy source is much more important than its utilization in solar based energy systems. It is potentially a form of information as well as energy transmission, and it both drives other forms of mechanical energy systems on earth, the wind, the waves, the rainfall through evaporation, and it is connected as well to a larger universal energy system that involves gravitation, the mechanical dynamics of motion, and the quantum dynamics of nuclear events.
Solar Meta-Systems represents a cornerstone of the Lewis-Works Metasystems framework, and comprises the central platform of the physical metasystems framework that it represents. Its basis is the accelerated realization of the potential of solar-based energy development. It is our belief that only Solar-Hydrogen based energy economies are ecologically sustainable in the structure of the long run, and are the only form of energy platform that offers a potentially unlimited amount of power generation. The delay in the development of solar-hydrogen frameworks and platforms has been largely political and social, rather than technological or economic in origin. There is no rational reason for further delay in these developmental directions, and every existential reason to advance in these directions as soon as possible.
We are dedicated to a truly open and free framework. We envision and energy revolution that is every whit as powerful as the information revolution has been.
