Sea Dreams
Nightmare waves
Return again
Follow upon a long withdrawing sea
Exposing in phosphorescent foam
Secret caverns, canyons and cities
Of alter earth
In the great undersea channel
Between this land and that large island
And its strange creatures
Momentarily beckon to us
In strange curiosity
And then the withdrawing
Mighty sea
Comes again in a rising fury
And waves the once were low
Grow and grow
In the moon's mysterious glow
And we race up to higher ground
Caught between the crashing sea
And steep cliffs
Of sharp rocks and wet slippery clay
And our feet are held fast
By the grasping sand
And though our hearts pump furiously
Our legs move naught
And soon we are submerged
In the depths of the sea
There to glide like sea nymphs
For eternity
Denizens of the deep
Citizens of the sea
