The Encircling Horizon

Sun chases Moon

Dreams become memories

Entrancing on the outer edges

Of waking consciousness

Faces are like reflections

Dancing flame-like

On the surface

 Of thick round glasses

Moments most ephemeral

Flowing serpentine

In twisting, undulating form

Through windows opening outward

Flowing water-like into the greater sea beyond

Clouds and waves rolling eternally together

Always pounding and crashing and broiling

Whence our spirits and our secret longing

Merge foam-like into a single essence

Wandering sublime solitary being

Drifting unanchored somewhere

Between blue sky and surf

Endless blue depths

Forlorn ghost

Vanishing

Forever

Lost

In balance

Upon our encircling horizon
