Lewis
Publications has
been involved with the limited edition publication of select texts. All
publications are de facto limited editions--even mass oriented penny
publications and best sellers are only printed in finite quantities, though
these quantities may be vast. Lewis Publications does not judge or determine
the success of a publication in terms of the volume of its sales or its
popularity. There is often very little or no connection at all between the
literary value, informational importance or theoretical significance of a
particular text and its market success, and this trend has grown worse in
recent years. Consequently, there are many worthwhile texts that never see the
light of a market day, buried as they become on editor's desks before they
have a chance to be read by any larger audience.
Lewis
Publications therefore engages in private and limited publication of texts,
and can offer a range of alternative publication avenues for a particular
text. We target selective and discriminating audiences, and have devised
marketing strategies that do not depend upon the least common denominator of
mass appeal of a fancy book cover.
