Publishing, Artistic Production & Multi-Media Productions

Lewis Works had its start in on-line publishing, and the problems of publishing and artistic production remain at the core of the Lewis Works framework. We can call it the other, softer side of human systems. We have slowly developed and extended our publication and artistic production resources and though our growth has been slow due to limited resources, we have increased considerably our ability to leverage resources effectively within a systems framework.

Our main goals have been and remain the development of new systems of creative presentation and performance for purposes of heuristic exploration, information, entertainment and recreation. We would like to extend this central set of interests to the development of a worldwide system of recreational activity that would permit both rich and poor people to enjoy a better quality of life through the availability of leisure and otherwise sumptuary privileges.

Human anti-structure is a necessary facet of the human experience and social organization, and is fundamental to the healthy adaptation of people to their world and changing environments. Such anti-structure comes in many different forms, and if not allowed to be creatively and constructively achieved, will be evinced in rather negative, regressive and even destructive forms. We see the development of healthy systems of anti-structure a necessary anti-dote to many of the chronic problems and patterns of deviance that human beings evince in their daily lives and in their life-times.

The long-range goals in this area of involvement are admittedly far off and beyond our current resource capabilities, but they remain as a long-term set of goals worthy of our continuing efforts. In the mean time we ply our trade in the traditional arts and in wood working, and seek to extend our framework in as many directions as possible to the accomplishment of our long range goals.
