How Lewis-Works Relates To You
The Lewis-Works metasystems framework potentially relates to everything, not just in a general manner, but in relatively specific and functional ways. Lewis-Works is a comprehensive framework and is intended to maximize the contextual value that such a general framework promises. The key words in these statements are "potential" and "promise" as the realization of a metasystem as something that exists on the ground in its own imperfect and complicated manner is as yet a possibility that exists on paper and in plans rather than in significant tangible form.
Lewis-Works may be said to relate to everyone on several levels. It becomes everyone's business when it concerns our global future in a collective sense, when we speak of being able to forecast into our future and to formulate designs here and now that have the potential and promise for a better world tomorrow as a result.
At the same time, each individual human being and party or group of individuals sharing a common interest may potentially plug into the Lewis-Works framework in a different, unique manner, with the promise of profiting and improving their lives thereby. The Lewis-Works framework has been intentionally designed in just this way, leaving no stone unturned so to speak, except those stones we do not see beyond our collective horizons.
The profile of any one person's or group of people's interests upon the functional continuum of the Lewis-Works metasystem will be unique, and will carve up this continuum in many different parts and places. People might be surprised to find that their interests intersect in more points than they would otherwise or obviously think.
The question needing to be answered by any interested party or person is how might the Lewis-Works framework or the general model of the Metasystem relate possibly, and in a relatively specific sense, to you and your own unique set of interests. The philosophy of Lewis-Works is that there is no area of interest or application that lies beyond the purview and range of its framework. There is no area of knowledge or involvement that cannot be fit somewhere within the framework in a functional manner. This is really the strength and potential of the metasystems concept. It permits people a systematic context for exploring and potentially extending their own sets of interests and involvements in the world in a constructive and non-destructive manner.
It is recommended that you clearly define for yourself your focal area of interest or involvement or concern in your life. For most this may seem like an obvious answer. At the same time, the answer may seem also incomplete or insufficient--wanting something more. For some, there may be more than one set of interests, or multiple areas of interest, that compete for one's resources. For myself, my family, my art, writing and work in the Metasystem framework all compete equally for my time and attention and it is rarely the case that my energies are equally distributed between all my interests. Of course, family interests precede all others, and I cannot say when I attempt to prioritize my involvements that my writing or art are more or less important than one another.
Our strongest and sincerest recommendation if you have a further interest in exploring how a metasystems framework may relate to your own unique profile in the world, and perhaps to discover dimensions about your own profile and life-situation you did not clearly comprehend before, then please get in touch with us and communicate to us in an open manner.
Sometimes, before we can learn where we truly want to go, we must discover where we are really at.
