Alternative Contextualization
Alternative contextualization of problem sets or project designs comes with deliberately shifting frames of reference, usually by trying to redefine basic terms and relationship by which we outline a problem. We aim to see a problem from as many angles as possible, and to develop as comprehensive an understanding of a problem as we can. Experience with particular kinds of problems and different kinds of problems brings with it a greater capacity to contextualize any particular problem in one or more different ways. To some extent therefore, the deliberate recontextualization of a problem can serve as a heuristic short-cut to experience, and as a means for gaining experience, into a problem set.
