Distributed-Integrated Educational Programs
Systems integration in educational systems demands rethinking and reorganizing how people communicate, interact and disseminate information. Seeing schools as centralized locations to which people migrate daily and annually, is, if not a completely out-moded conception, is one that is at least due for some major overhauling. Technology in education has become a buzz word and specialists in educational technology are the in-crowd sophisticates who tend, by the way, to be quite protective of their turfs.
Distributed-Integrated education systems refers to a rethinking of educational organization and strategies for the transmission of knowledge that permits greater modularization and flexibility of program structures and distribution of educational resources. The ultimate goal of education must be measured in terms of the achievement and adaptive performance of the student as a consequence of the educational resources invested.
