Education Systems

By refering to education systems, I am not referring to the "Educational System" characterized mostly now by administrative bureaucracy that comes attached to the control of resource structures in the articulation of public educational systems especially. These appear to be increasingly bound by the box, conformist and even uniformist in its approach and overemphasis of standards in a contradictory environment of "diversity," and exhibiting aspects of administrative authoritarianism. It is largely in reaction to this state of affairs within the American system especially that Lewis Education was created as an alternative approach.

Rather, Lewis Education attempts to approach the general and applied problems of Education, at all levels, from a general and alternative systems framework, which implies a sense of holism of structural patterning, and underdetermination of control structures and variables affecting inputs and outputs, and the complex stratification of such systems that understands the individual student, the family, the classroom, the school, and the larger community structures each as separable but interdependent systems that are part of a larger whole.
