Conventional Anthropology
Conventional Anthropology has it has been articulated in the United States is divided into four subfields--Socio-cultural Anthropology; Linguistics; Archaeology and Physical Anthropology. Rarely it seems have people from these subdisciplines coexisted in an entirely peaceful, much less, symbiotic manner, even though individuals frequently cross between camps and maintain footholds in more than one area simultaneously. In growing more correct and "compliant" in corporate academia, Anthropology has suffered greatly I think in terms of its relevance, its scientificity and its sense of its received self as a legitimate and credible scientific discipline, except in very narrow fields of focal interest like Forensics or field archaeology.
Nevertheless, by whomever and however Anthropology becomes academically articulated, the field of Anthropology remains intrinsically interesting and invaluable, both in its own right, and as an approach to a broader understanding of human systems in holistic context and at various levels of analysis.
We will soon be publishing links in this section that provide greater content on formal and conventional anthropological knowledge and perspectives.
