Anthropological Consulting
We have from the beginning offered frameworks for consulting regarding general problem solving. Our consultancy may be said to be primarily general systems based applications to real world problem sets and contexts, and to experimental alternative applications.
More detailed information of these services can be found at:
Our consulting framework has been collected into a single forum and context, and is directly a part of the Lewis Works framework.
Briefly, general problem solving can cover almost any issue that exists, particularly in social contexts. The methodological paradigm for the conduct of consulting is based upon the idea of implicit knowledge and rules that serve to structurally constrain and regulate behavior and events even if direct knowledge of the causes and determinants is not available. Our effort then is to uncover the critical determinants affecting a patterning of events, and then to devise experimental tests by which these determinants can be effectively manipulated and managed in a controlled manner. Afterall, this is really what goes on in all scientific research methodologies--ours only apply to complex and largely heterogenous settings usually involving human actors and informants.
Anthropological trade-markes of our consultancy include the following:
1. a strong meta-ethical and ethical obligation guiding professional conduct and protecting rights of all parties.
2. preliminary research and investigation to determine the efficacy and realism of conducting further inquiry or of attempting a given problem solution.
3. recontextualization of problem sets within multiple frames of reference for goodness of fit and to reveal pattern that may otherwise be missed.
4. careful analytical attention to the smallest details.
5. comparative profiling of patterns in a systematic manner, upon multiple levels of analysis.
6. referrals to services or agencies that may be better equipped to handle a problem than ourselves.
7. negotiable contracts.
We will take on no projects that do not have clear guidelines or objectives and that cannot be concluded in a reasonable time frame at reasonable costs.
