Constructing Alternative Human Development Systems

Human development is defined holistically as encompassing the entire continuum of the human life cycle. It concerns the problems of the achievement and maintenance of human quality of life, the health and welfare of the human community, defined in local, regional and global contexts, and the amelioration of the endemic and pandemic conditions and factors of stress that lead to human suffering and lack of achievement the world over. There are no simple solutions to these problems, but they are issues that have many facets and complications, and that demand broad-based, well coordinated kinds of solutions.

Lewis Education is dedicated to the global advancement of an anthropological based system of alternative human development founded upon a functional model of the social construction of reality, the anthropology of knowledge, and cross-cultural research in symbolic cognition within a human systems framework. We seek to promote scientific applications in human development problems, realizing that education forms the central driving mechanism of human adaptation, on both group and individual levels, and forms the basis for all human behavior and social relationship. Human development issues are increasingly important concerns for all nation-states and peoples worldwide. New methodologies and institutional frameworks must be configured to meet this growing demand in an effective and responsible manner.
