Prospects
If someone asked me today what are our realistic prospects for the long term, I would ask them in return, "how high is the moon." This must be understood with the proviso that reality is some strange combination of what we make it and what is given on our plate to work with in life. I've had perchance and per necessity had to learn to make a lot with a little bit.
Realistically, I would say at this time long term prospects are better than they were at any time before, but a number of large challenges still stand between us now and where we eventually want to be with this framework.
Up til recently we've been pretty much a one horse operation. Now I would say we're a two horser and soon we're even looking for another horse, or a donkey or mule or llama or something.
Home based business systems will only continue to increase in number and grow in sophistication and representation upon the web in the future. E-commerce is not just here to stay, but really is the marketing tsunami of the future.
Many things impede this progress and make the development of home based business, if not impossible, at least very impractical and uninviting to most people. First and foremost is the total avalanche of spam and superfluous e-mail and associated bogus web-sites that attempt by hook and by crook to lure naive, hopeful, unsuspecting and half open people through their portal. Behind much of this is identity theft, and it shades rapidly into out-right fraud. This has become so rampant that it is undermining honest efforts to cultivate viable web-business frameworks and it has the effect of tarnishing the atmosphere of web-business and creating a general mindset of distrust in using the web as the basis for any business transactions.
In spite of the chronic assaults upon our system, the prospects for the business development of the Lewis Works framework, especially through Lewis Business Net, have brightened considerably. This has been achieved primarily through internal organization and integration of functions, as well as the continuous process of development of the major subsystem frameworks within Lewis Works. There has of course been a rather steep learning curve that's been associated with almost everything we do, and unlike natural systems that are self-organizing, human systems do not take care of themselves.
Traffic through our web-system is increasing steadily and gradually at an exponential rate that is clearly evident when viewed over months and years. At the same time, web-play is increasing in average frequency as well, and this play is beginning to relate to a broader range of interests, products and projects than previously, which tells us that we've been headed in the right direction, only slow to get there when pulled by only one or two horses.
Our frameworks are more stable and better defined than they have been at any point in the past, and we are moving into a transitional period of "stepping out" beyond the initial design and exploratory phases.
